A Weekend at 'One Tree Point'

"One Tree Point" is not exactly a well known beach front weekend destination but with recent commercial development and the desire for kiwi's to own a rare seaside plot of land, it is becoming a small and expensive township.

This weekend trip wasn't at all about scouting a beach front plot but more a chance to catch up with my cousin Jody and her husband Ewen before I head back to the UK.

With six years spent over seas and 1 year solid back packing through Africa & South America, it was nice to hear about their story's and how they were coping with the settlement back into NZ life.

With their passion for outdoors, they managed to pull me away from the Commonwealth games coverage long enough to enjoy a sea swim, a round of golf putting and a delicious BBQ in the evening.

All and all a good weekend spent with some of my family over the last final weeks.
