Wellington Visit

Today we traveled over the Rimutaka hills to the ‘big smoke’, Wellington. We had some Christmas shopping left to do and Grigoria had arranged to meet for dinner with a British friend from work who currently lives there.

The weather was once again brilliant and it was fun walking around the streets of Wellington, until a fire in one of the larger city buildings caused the power to go down. Fortunately by that stage we had finished with most of our chores so we sat at a coffee shop watching the fire engines go by.

In the evening we met Grigoria’s friend Paul at the roof garden of the ‘Wine Cellar’ for a glass of (Kiwi) wine and a chat. It was great catching up with Paul and we hope to maybe see him again next week before he too flies home for Christmas.
