Pre-Christmas Snow!

Knowing what the weather is normally like this time of the year, it was a big surprise to see the large amount of snow which falled last night.

Still a nice expericence leading into Christmas and it provided a very festive
feel to the impending holiday break.

Almost ready for Christmas....

The tree is up, decorated and the lights in place so we're almost ready for Christmas.

All we need now is a few more gifts beneath it and some sweats and we'll be set for a white Christmas.

See below images of the tree process.

Moving House...

After a few nights of packing, tomorrow we'll be tacking the plunge and moving out of London to leafy Northwood.

It will be a new experience for both of us, especially Grigoria whom has spent a lot of her life in the city and for us we'll finally have some decent space to spread out a little.
We're looking forwarding to having the greenery, freedom of a car and three golf courses close by....maybe that is just me!
Further blogs to come on the move.....

An Amazing Surprise!

As predicted, late last night the snow started to fall and to our surprise when we woke this morning it hadn’t stopped!

Wow, the coverage was amazing with a very healthy depth of close to 150mm (possibly more).

Once we got past the romance it dawn on us just how difficult it was got to be to get to work with almost all of the tube lines either not running or severely disrupted, so a good 25 minute walk from Baron’s Court to Shepherds Bush Central Line and we were on our way.

Surprisingly it the tube wasn’t packed, it seemed the snow was a good excuse for a lot of people not for us committed ones who would walk through snow to get to work…

As the day progressed it kept on falling which meant another trudge home in the snow for me, Grigoria on the other hand got on the Central & Piccadilly lines.

Although it looks pretty for a while, it will soon turn into slush or even worse icy so I hope it clears soon…

BREAKING NEWS........We're Engaged!!

After 4.5 years of knowing each other, tonight I popped the question to Grigoria and despite the freezing temperatures as we stood at Chelsea Bridge looking up river towards an illuminated Battersea Bridge, Grigoria said Yes or maybe that was to get into a warm place!

So no set details as yet but will update all close friends in time to come…

Kind Regards

Blair & Grigoria

Grigoria's Parents (Autumn) Visit..

Although Grigoria’s parents arrived on Tuesday evening, today was our first real opportunity to spend some quality time with them, so we headed to Windsor & Eton.

Despite the chilly autumn weather it was still nice enough for us all to start our visit with a walk around Eton which is better known for the college than a quant village of small antique shops, galleries and formal tailors.

Following lunch at a nice pub, we headed across the river Thames to Windsor so that Grigoria’s parents could take in a closer look of the castle, but unfortunately it had just closed.

Instead we walked around the old town streets, towards to Royal Great Park; http://www.royal-windsor.com/greatpark.htm and admired the ‘Man on the Copper Horse' in the far distance.

From the park we walked back through the town before heading back to London for dinner at Maria (Grigoria’s sister) & Alastair’s place.

All and all a great day discovering Windsor and spending time with the Grigoria’s family.
