MIB Wins Award......

Finally the company has received some recognition for our newly completed MIB building in Manchester, with (joint) first prize in the Regional Chamber Awards for the North West.

It’s obviously pleasing to receive an accolade for that three year period of my career, especially considering we managed to fend off the likes of Fosters for the top prize, well I guess they can’t win all the awards…..

London Cycle Show....

It’s that time of the year again…. leaves turn brown, schools start and more importantly bike manufacturers release the coming seasons frames and new kit!

With the date firmly fixed in my calendar for the past few months the anticipation was reaching a zenith! The gala type event was, unfortunately for us West Londoners, held this year at the Excel centre (way out east) but was nevertheless worth the visit.

As that I hadn’t been for a couple of years and I was given a complimentary ticket from a friend, it was a perfect opportunity to spend Saturday morning seeing what I can’t afford!

Obviously with next years Tour de France starting from London, the annual Tour stand was one of the major stages and Eddy Merckx officially opened the show by cutting a ribbon.

The brands exhibiting included Serrota, Look and Condor bikes. There were numerous folding bikes brands along with cycle holidays (Greece included!) and training camps in Spain which could have my name written all over them for the next couple of years to come…….

Cassidy Road (Flat) Catch Up….

Since leaving the flat in Cassidy Road, Fulham, last year all of my flatmates have gone their separate ways and are now scattered around the world.

Therefore, Karla’s three week visit (from Sydney, Australia) was a great opportunity for the old crew to catch up! Leigh & Kylie (currently living in Chester) and Jane & Colin (Bristol) all headed over to London for the weekend. George is currently in the process of moving houses back in Australia was of course greatly missed.

The tone of the weekend was set early with a dinner at a local Moroccan restaurant (www.medea-restaurant.com) and dancing (on and off the tables) till the wee hours of the morning (not us!).

Saturday included a trip to Borough market for some food shopping and lunch by the river and concluded with cocktails in the evening.

It was really wonderful having Leigh & Kylie stay with us, and catching up with Jane & Colin and Karla. Karla have a good trip back to Oz and Leigh, Kylie and Jayne we look forward to seeing you again soon!
